Teaching

With a Master's Degree in Education and two decades of experience teaching and performing on the guitar and bass, Michael Schaller has the background and flexibility to provide truly student-centered learning to all ages and abilities.  He believes that a good teacher does more than just teach scales or riffs--a good teacher is a mentor as well as an instructor.

"Michael gears his curriculums and lesson plans around the student’s interests." –  Andrew (Owner, Chelmsford Music Academy)
" I look forward to every lesson!" – Don (adult student)

Michael has managed his own private teaching practice; taught in the Littleton, MA public school system; and served as teaching faculty at the Music Academy of Chelmsford, MA, the Art and Soul Music Studios of Moraga, CA, and the Brookline, MA Adult and Community Education Program.  He has found that the one thing all students have in common is that they want to learn something new, and his priority as a teacher is to facilitate that learning in a fun and supportive way.

"As a total beginner I was surprised how much I learned!" – (Brookline Adult Education Student Evaluation)
"I have been playing for 16 years and I found parts of the class wonderfully challenging." – (Brookline Adult Education Student Evaluation)
